Microfiber isn't one fabric. We make two robes from it — a plush fleece that wraps you in warmth and a brushed twill that is smooth like butter. Same microfiber, two completely different robes.

Smooth and silky with a light drape that doesn't weigh you down. Often referred as "doeskin" for its soft velvet-like feel. A fine brushed-twill face over a densely packed French-terry lining — the absorbent half is on the inside.
Cloud-soft and cushiony — the robe you put on to get warm, not to dry off. Deep plush fleece with a brushed nap on the outside, like your favorite soft throw or blanket.
That was the whole idea behind Plush Necessities®: take the robe you never want to give back at the spa, and make one good enough to live in at home — soft enough to crave, tough enough to keep, and priced so it's a treat you can actually justify.
More than 100,000 customers and a shelf of "Best Robe" awards later, our robes are the ones you keep reaching for.
Why our robes took so long
"It took over a year to develop — and it was worth every day. Twenty years later, we still make the exact same robe, designed the way I insisted on from the start: high stitch count, lay-flat seams, pre-washed and ready to wear. Some things you don't improve — you just get right the first time."
I had a similar robe that was beginning to fray a little after years of daily wear, so when I saw this one with the smooth microfiber and dense terry combination, I had to have it. I am delighted. The color is lovely and it's very well made with deep gusseted pockets and a thick belt.
This is a crazy-good robe. The fleece is toast-warm, and it fits across my shoulders perfectly.
I am a 5’10” woman, and this fit me beautifully. It was generously sized, the arms were long enough, and I loved the soft terry cloth of the inside and the microfiber on the outside. I am extremely happy with my purchase!
The robes are very well constructed, warm and one of the best spa robes I’ve ever worn.
Best, most comfortable robe ever!! Absolutely plush — better quality than any robe you’ll ever have!!
I absolutely love my microfiber robe. It is super comfortable and soft. Wearing the robe makes you feel as if you’re wrapped in a warm hug.
Here's why they hold up when other robes give out: our robes are sewn with a far higher stitch count than most, with the inner seams finished as smooth as possible — so they don't blow out or rub. Both microfibers are built to survive the constant wash-and-dry cycles that 5-star hotel and spa robes must.
The difference is in the details. Every robe we make gets hours of meticulous tailoring: the inner seams finished as smooth as possible so nothing rubs against your skin, a beautifully trimmed cuff, and every thread, every stitch, and every seam crafted to sit just right. It's the kind of finishing you feel the moment you put it on.
If your robe isn't the softest, most-reached-for robe you own, send it back. No restocking fees, no runaround — just 90-day hassle-free returns and free fast shipping.
Try Our Robes →An ultra-fine synthetic fibre — finer than a strand of silk — which can be finished in very different ways. Brushed into a smooth twill it becomes the silky face of the Luxe; napped into a deep fleece it becomes the Plush Signature. Same fibre family, two robes that feel nothing alike.
The Luxe, and not because of the microfiber — because of what's behind it. It's lined with densely packed French terry, so the smooth outer face keeps the spa look while the inside does the drying. The Plush is not designed to absorb water, but it's built for warmth first.
The Plush Signature, comfortably. Deep plush fleece traps far more air than a brushed twill, which is why customers describe it as toast-warm and reach for it on cold mornings. The Luxe is the lighter of the two and easier to wear year-round.
Both the same way, and both are machine washable: wash cold, tumble dry low (Luxe) or air fluff (Plush), and skip the fabric softener — it coats microfiber and dulls both the softness and the absorbency. Neither needs ironing.
